Subhashita 11. Animals and People.
 
येषां न विद्या, न तपो, न दानं, ज्ञानं न शीलं, न गुणो न धर्मः |
ते मर्त्यलोके भुवि भारभूताः, मनुष्यरूपेण मृगाश्चरन्ति ||

 

 
 
येषां न विद्या Those who do not have learning, न तपो have no austerity, न दानं are not given to charity, ज्ञानं न शीलं have neither knowledge nor character न गुणो  have no good qualities न धर्मः  have no righteousness,
ते They , मर्त्यलोके on this Mrtyuloka, भुवि on this Earth , भारभूताः are beings  who are only loads..( literal translation would be.... liabilities, those that only receive and do not contribute in return.), मनुष्यरूपेण in the form of people, मृगाः चरन्ति are animals that (simply) graze.
 
Qualities that set aside PEOPLE from people.
