Lesson 52. Yaantavaantaadesha-sandhi.
The rules for this are tabulated below
| 1 | ए | followed by | any swara | = | ए changing to अय् |
| 2 | ऐ | followed by | any swara | = | ऐ changing to आय् |
| 3 | ओ | followed by | any swara | = | ओ changing to अव् |
| 4 | औ | followed by | any swara | = | औ changing to आव् |
Then the changed swara of the first word gets added to the swara of the next word AGAIN to form a new letter.
Here are examples for each of them:
1. हरे +एतत्
हर् + अय् + एतत् = हरयेतत्
2. नै + अकः
न् + आय् + अकः = नायकः
3. विष्णो + एतत्
विष्ण्+ अव् + एतत् = विष्णवेतत्
4. पौ + अकः
प्+ आव् + अकः = पावकः

2. नै + अकः
न् + आय् + अकः = नायकः
3. विष्णो + एतत्
विष्ण्+ अव् + एतत् = विष्णवेतत्
