MUMBAI (COLLECTIVE ACTIVITIES ACROSS YUVA-S OF ALL SABHA-S)

• Yuva-s made presentations on the various activities of our Math at various locations; like Virar–‘Parijnanashram Educational and Vocational Centre for the Handicapped’ (27th June) and Vile-Parle on Gudi Padwa.

• Attended Karaseva Shibir in May 2010.

• Attended and volunteered in Karla during the celebrations on 1st March and the star-gazing session (April 24-25, 2010).

• Participated and volunteered in the Sannikarsha and Seva Saptaha at Karla.

SABHA-SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES:

Dadar
• The yuva-s participated in the Samaradhana of Parama Pujya Shankarashram Swamiji II, which was observed on 18th January, by performing Gurupujanam.

• Around three yuva-s attended the ‘Sanskrit Sambhashan’ shibir held at Shirali from 23rd January to 26th January.

• Three yuva-s also participated in the Gayatri Anushthana at Mallapur on 24th January.

• Session on ‘Sanatana Dharma’ was conducted by Dr. Chaitanya Gulvady maam in which eight yuva-s participated.

• On 3rd February, yuva-s participated in the ‘Ordination Day’ celebrations of Pujya Sadyojat Shankarashram Swamiji was observed with bhajans at the Matunga Mitra Mandal Hall.

• Shishya Sweekar of Pujya Parijnanashram Swamiji III was celebrated at Karla on 1st March, and around 15 yuva-s participated in the celebrations.

• On 21st March, yuva-s participated in Sannikarsha at Karla (out of which three yuva-s performed Gurupujanam).

• 24 yuva-s participated along with Prarthana Varga in a session on ‘pencil sketching and glass painting’ on 2nd April.

• 18 yuva-s participated in the ‘Taare Zameen Par’ programme held at Karla on 24th and 25th April.

• Yuva-s participated in the Karaseva shibir in Shirali.

• Yuva-s participated in Sannikarsha and performed Gurupujanam on 13th June.

• Seven yuva-s participated in the Seva Saptaha at Karla.

Borivali
• Volunteering in organizing the annual drawing competitions organized by Visawa Charitable Trust for school children between age 3-14 yrs, and the physically and mentally challenged children (About 1500 children participate every year).

• Yuva-s organised a ten-day summer camp for the Prarthana Varga children. About 33 children participated and 12 yuva-s participated in conducting and arranging the activities.

• Organized a picnic to National Park and Kanheri with the Prarthana Varga children and their parents.

• Attended the Sannikarsha at Karla in January.

• Volunteered at Karla for 1st March programme (from 27th Feb to 1st March).

• Two yuva-s participated in Karaseva Shibir in May 2010.

Grant Road
• Yuva-s have been participating in the Kick-Boxing training sessions conducted by Shri Anil Kadam at the Balak Vrinda Education Society High School, Talmakiwadi.

• Yuva-s participated in Sannikarsha Seva at Karla on 17th Jan, 21st Feb and 21st May.

• Volunteered during ‘Shishya Sweekar Jayanti Mahotsava’ at Karla on March 1.

• Participated in the ‘Star-gazing and sky observation session’ at Karla on 24th- 25th April.

• Participated in the Karaseva shibir in May 2010 at Shirali.

• Volunteered during ‘Janmotsava 2010’ at Karla on 14th and 15th June.

Santacruz
• Organised the Annual Gathering and sports events of the Saraswat club from 3rd-26th January 2010.

• Participated in the ‘Ordination Day’ celebrations of Pujya Sadyojat Shankarashram Swamiji, which was celebrated with bhajans at Anandashram Hall on 3rd February 2010.

• Organized a T-shirt painting activity on 7th Feb where 8 yuvas from Santacruz and 4 from Khar-Bandra participated.

• Helped and participated in organising the All-Sabha meeting on 21st Feb.

• Organized the Holika Poojan on 16th Feb.

• Yuvas attended and helped in volunteering at Karla on 1st March.

• Attended Sannikarsha and participated in the Seva-saptah.

• Helped in organising the Karseva Shibir.

• Participated in the ‘Star-gazing session’ at Karla on 24th-25th April.

• Motivated & helped the Prerana varga in team building activity in making a foosball table which will be put up for display in Anand mela during P.P. Swamiji’s visit.

• Attended the Karaseva shibir in May 2010.

• Yuvas helped and participated in the Local Sabha AGM, where 1 yuva shared his experience during the first seva saptah and motivated other people to join and 6 sadhakas registered their names for seva saptah in response.

BENGALURU

• Participated in the ‘Sanskrit Upasana Shibir’ organized at Shri Chitrapur Math, Bangalore from 16th-17th January.

• Yuva-s attended a training programme on ‘Presentation skills’ conducted by Ashwin Hoskote maam to train them to make the presentations on some of the activities conducted by the Math. These presentations were made before the laity and Pujya Swamiji on 6th February.

• Assisted in cleaning of the Math for the preparations for Pujya Swamiji’s visit.

• Volunteered at the Math during Pujya Swamiji’s visit in February.

• Made presentations at the Math in the presence of the laity and the august presence of Parama Pujya Shrimat Sadyojat Shankarashram Swamiji and Pujya Narayan Giri Swamiji of Mount Abu.

• Offered bhajan seva during Paduka Pujan and Teerth Vitaran.

• Few yuva-s participated in the Mahashivaratri pujan on 12th February at the Math.

• Participated in the activity conducted by Udaya Mavinkurve pachi on Konkani culture and Sanskrit.

• Yuva-s also participated in the chanting of Shri Parijnanashram Trayodashi followed by translation and explanation of the verses.

• Vimarsha was conducted on the second verse of the bhajan- Guru Mahima.

• They also participated in the Guru Parampara parayan, followed by Sadhana Kaikini pachi’s interactive workshop on "Managing the 'ME.' It was based on Stephen Covey’s best-selling book ‘The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People’.

• A team of yuva-s have been working on stock-taking of the books and creating an electronic database of the books in the Bangalore Math library. These yuva-s meet every Saturday.

• They also hosted Arvind Nadkarni maam's workshop ‘The Art of Talkamatics’ at Shri Chitrapur Math, Bangalore (30th April-2nd May). 15 yuva-s across Bangalore, Chennai, Hubli and Hyderabad sabhas attended the workshop.

• Three yuva-s prepared to make the presentations on the Parimochana Project and Samvit Sudha at the Karaseva Shibir.

• Two yuva-s participated in the Karaseva Shibir held from 9th -16th May.

• Yuva-s volunteered at the Math during Parama Pujya Swamiji's visit: 20th June-2nd July.

• Organised and participated in a cultural programme, Konkani Nritya-roopak ‘Bhasmasura Mohini’ during Pujya Swamiji’s visit to Mangalore. They also participated in a skit about day-to-day lifestyle and our Guru Parampara.

• Participated in the Karaseva shibir in Shirali.

• Performed Gurupujanam on various occasions.

• Participated in the one-lakh ‘Gayatri Anushthana’ in Shri Guru Math, Mallapur and attended the Vardhanti Utsav in Shri Chitrapur Math, Shirali on 23rd and 24th January.

• Participated in an Archery Session on 31st January at the Shooting Stars Academy, Hyderabad.

• Performed Shiva-Pujan on 21st February along with a few other sadhaka-s.

• Chanting of the Parijnanashram Trayodashi, and understanding the meaning of the verses.

• Conducted an interesting game of Pictionary on Aamchi surnames.

• Participated in the Samuhik Devi Anushthana on 21st March and the meeting on ‘Seva Saptaha and the update from Karla’.

• Helped local sabha members in the distribution of the Shri Chitrapur Math calendars.

• Participated in the astronomy workshop on 24th-25th April at Karla and volunteered in various activities.

• Attended the ‘The Art of Talkamatics’ workshop organized in Bengaluru from 30th April- 2nd May by Arvind Nadkarni maam.

• Participated in the Karaseva shibir in Shirali.

• Offered seva at Karla by taking part in the Seva Saptaha.

• Participated in the Annual General Meeting of the local sabha and updated everyone about the activities undertaken by the Yuvadhara.

• Participated in the Janmotsava on 15th June in Karla, offered seva and volunteered there.

• Participated in the monthly satsang, sang bhajans and volunteered.

• Organized and participated in a kite-flying session on the occasion of Sankranti.

• Attended the Sanskrit Sambhashan classes held regularly by Durga Kumta pachi.

• Participated in the 1st March celebrations at Karla and the star gazing session: 24th-25th April at Karla.

• Participated in the Sannikarsha at Karla along with local sabha members.

• Yuva-s participated in the Karaseva shibir held in May 2010.

• Participated and volunteered during Pujya Swamiji’s visit (Meghotsava 2010) at Pune Math. Yuva-s handled the responsibility to decorate the entire Math for the occasion and actively participated in the various programmes planned around that time: Sanskrit skit (for the cultural entertainment program), participation in the ‘Sanskrit Day’ activities and participation in ‘Indradhanush’- the fest during Meghotsava.

• Yuva-s also made presentations at various areas in Pune where Pujya Swamiji visited the senior citizens of that place. The similar format is being replicated where yuva-s are going to far-flung areas of Pune and making Math-related presentations to inform the laity about the various initiatives undertaken under the aegis of the Math.

• They also watched a presentation on ‘Environmental Hazards. Case study: Lavasa’. This was followed by a discussion on the same.

• They also informed the yuva-s about the various sources of information on the web and social networkings sites, whereby yuva-s should be regularly on the lookout and bring it to notice for efficient combat of problems.

• Participated in the sabha satsang which comprised Gurupujanam, Devi Anushthana, chanting of shlokas and bhajans, Mrutyunjaya Japa.

• Chanting of Shri Parijnanashram Trayodashi and understanding the meaning of the verses.

• Conducted a Konkani quiz on the days of week, colours and "dub-double" words.

• Vimarsha on Guru Mahima bhajan- second verse.

• Participated in the Yugadi satsang- screening of DVD of Karla (March 1st), Mangal Aarti and Paanak Panvar.

• A yuva offered seva as volunteer in Seva Saptaha at Karla from May 16th to-23rd.

• Participated in a session where the meaning of the Sabha Commencing prayers was explained, chanting of Guru Paduka Stotram and Shri Parijnanashram Trayodashi.

• Participated in the Devi Anushthana performed by all.

• They also informed the yuva-s about the various sources of information on the web and social networkings sites, whereby yuva-s agreed to be regularly on the lookout and bring it to notice.

Participation in Seva Saptaha in Karla.

• A Vimarsh was conducted on "Nandantu Sadhaka Sarwe…" The Vimarsh was very good and focused.

• Organised a Blood Donation Camp.

• Performed Devi-Anushthan.

• Seven youngsters attended TAT workshop by Arvind maam in Bangalore.

• They also organised an Anand Mela on Sunday the 27th June from 4.00 pm to 7.00 pm.

• They kept stalls from eateries to chocolates to glass painting to greeting cards done by them.
