Currently the following projects are ongoing :
Parimochan – The Trust,
alongwith a well known NGO Bharatiya Agro Industrial Foundation
(BAIF), is involved in a rural upliftment project initially
for five villages around Chitrapur - Shirali in Bhatkal
Taluk, Uttara Kannada District, Karnataka State.
One of the objectives is to create improved and alternative
livelihood opportunities for 300 resource poor families
who are below the poverty line, through optimum utilization
of locally available resources.
1st Phase of Project parimochan was successfully completed
in March, 2010. 300 resource poor families from 5 villages
around Chitrapur, have been provided assistance It is now
proposed to cover 300 more families from another group of
5 villages around Chitrapur – in the next 3 years.
This project is envisaged to catalyze a process of socio–
economic change in these adopted villages that would lead
to improved livelihood and quality of life of participants
coupled with sustainable management of natural resources
in the area.
This project would also strive to strengthen human value
system in the villages and gradually reduce vices and family
tensions. The project will lead to decreased dependence
on government administrative system for fulfillment of the
basic needs of the villages.
Womens Self Help Groups (SHGs) have been formed as a foundation
for all activities. Training programmes are being conducted
from time to time.
FCRA – registration : The Trust is registered under
Foreign Contribution Regulations Act-1976 (FCRA) –
and is authorised to receive contributins/donations from
abroad.

CHITRAPUR MUSEUM AND LIBRARY :
The Trust has in possession very rare and historically
important sculptures, artefacts, palm leaf records, books
and literature of historical importance, dating back from 300
BC to 1800 AD.
With a view to making it accessible to the general
public, SCMC Trust has established a Museum in Chitrapur
to house and exhibit these priceless treasures. The Museum
was inaugurated by H.H. Sadyojat Shankarashram Swamiji on
29th December, 2008 .
The Shri Chitrapur Math Charitable Trust is registered
under the Income Tax Act 1961 and has obtained recognition
under Section 80 G of the same act. Donors of the Trust
can claim exemption of 50% of the donation amount from their
gross total income (subject to certain ceilings)
The Trust has applied and is awaiting registration under
the Foreign Contribution Regulations Act-1976 (FCRA), to
enable it to accept donations in foreign currency.
Persons desirous of making donations to the Trust may do
so either in Cash or by crossed Cheque / Draft payable to
Shri Chitrapur Math Charitable Trust Shirali " and
remit the same to the Executive Trustee, Shri Chitrapur
